Memorial Day traditionally marks the unofficial start to summer. This year, there are lots of fun events happening in and around St Augustine. We’ve rounded up 5 family-friendly events to help you celebrate and kick start the summer season!

Memorial Day RiverFest – May 31st 10am-9pm

Mark your calendars for the Memorial Day RiverFest happening Monday May 31st from 10am-9pm at Spring Park in Green Cove Springs including LIVE music headlined by The Curt Towne Band, 50 craft vendors, 15 food trucks, a Kid Zone, fireworks and more! 

The City of Green Cove Springs puts health and safety as a top priority during Memorial Day RiverFest. There will be hand sanitizing stations throughout Spring Park and social distance markers in high-traffic areas of the event. They also strongly encourage and appreciate social distancing and mask wearing.

Music By The Sea Begins – May 26th

An annual summer event that features local bands and restaurants, this event runs from May thru September and is fun for the whole family. Concerts are held on each Wednesday, beginning May 26, 2021, and continue through September 30, 2021. Learn more at http://www.sabca.org.

Drive In Laser Light Show – May 27-30th

Bring your own chairs and blankets and snacks to the St. Johns County Fairgrounds for a mind blowing, family friendly laser show accompanied by your favorite Musical Hits from Current Pop to Classic Rock. Shows are each night at 8:30 and 10 PM, $29 per carload and advanced tickets are required. There will be no cash sales at the gate. To purchase advanced tickets, visit www.CabinFeverLaserShow.com. Memorial Day Tribute at Classic Car Museum – May 29-31st

This free, family-friendly event includes displays of military vehicles, uniforms and equipment from World War 1, World War 2, Korean War & Vietnam War. The displays are FREE and open to the public. The Museum will also be open for the standard admission fee. Food truck vendors will be on hand. Classic car owners are encouraged to cruise in and show off their Patriotic Spirit!

Groove in the Grove – May 29th

Trailmark Living is hosting an outdoor musical festival Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 11am-7pm featuring music from Jacksonville-area bands Amber DeLaCruz, The Band Be Easy and Love Monkey.

There will also be food trucks including Son of a Butcher, Saffron, Twisted Oakie and Kona Ice will be on-site to offer food and beverages to purchase. Family-friendly entertainment offerings include face painting, rock climbing, bungee jumping, and the community’s newly redesigned Adventure Playground. Vendors will also be selling local merchandise, crafts and art. Pets are welcome so this event is fun for the whole family!
