Even if you’re not having guests over for a party, July 4th decor can be fun to put up around your home to celebrate. Blow up some balloons, hang some streamers and grab a few American flags to show off your patriotism this holiday.

Create a Water Park at Home

Florida summers are HOT and the perfect way to cool off is with a DIY water park at home. Set up a kiddie pool, hook up a sprinkler, fill up the water table and/or set up a slip & slide for your kids to play in.

Whether it’s hotdogs or watermelon, an eating contest is a fun way to celebrate with your family. You can make it even more interesting by requiring all participants to keep their hands behind their back. A social distancing 4th of July activity the whole family can enjoy.

Watch Fireworks

Fireworks in St Augustine may be cancelled this 4th of July, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy fireworks at home. Watch a video of past St Augustine fireworks, or check out this video of July 4th fireworks from Disney World. For live fireworks, the City of Jacksonville is hosting fireworks at 6 locations in Duval County including The Avenues Mall and Town Center.

Play With Glow Sticks

As a kid, my parents always gave us glow sticks on 4th of July night, so it’s something I also buy for my girls too. Glow sticks can be found at the Dollar Tree, Walmart, or even online and make celebrating July 4th night extra fun.
