Christmas, although magical, can be incredibly stressful to prepare for. Trying to plan the perfect gift for each one of your loved ones can be mind-boggling at best. Then there’s not only the main presents to handle but the added complication of filling a Christmas stocking. You may wonder why we even give stockings in the first place. There is actually an interesting origin to this tradition. Opening the Christmas stocking has always been one of my favorite parts of Christmas morning. It’s always packed with trinkets and surprises that can be more fun to discover than the main gift. But what can you fill your family’s Christmas stockings with that they’ll actually need and use? In hopes of making your holiday season a little less stressful, I’ve put together a list of useful and unique stocking stuffers for every age and interest, all of which are readily available on Amazon or in locally owned and operated stores right here in St. Augustine.

  • Teeny Turner: This handy little screwdriver that stores 7 easy interchangeable bits is honestly one of the best stocking stuffers I’ve ever received. I keep mine stowed in my kitchen drawer. It’s come in handy for small repairs and opening almost everything around the house with a battery compartment, including all those battery eating kids toys!
  • Spice up your Christmas stocking with some locally made A-Frame Sauces. This company was started when a local decided to grow two Datil Pepper plants in his back yard. There’s a variety of Datil Pepper sauces to choose from.  See their website for all locations where A-Frame is sold, including Ace Hardware on the Island, Cone Heads, and Publix on 312.

Ridley Straws is a local company based in Palm Coast Florida. I recently received one of their original glass straws and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Check their website to purchase online or find one of many local suppliers.
