May 4th marks a commemorative day in our house. Something we observe along with many other people in the world. I never thought I would be one of those people, but when your husband is a fanatic and you have two boys its inevitable. The love someone feels for Star Wars is something that should be appreciated every day, so when I found out about Star Wars day I knew I had to bring my a-game. The appropriate reference on Star Wars day, which occurs every May 4th is “May the fourth be with you.” You like the pun that they did there? While Star Wars day is dedicated to Star Wars lovers of all ages, I really think it’s a day we should be recognizing George Lucas and the brilliance he had when he created these movies. Who would have guessed that in 2020, the movies would be as popular as when they first came out.

Star Wars Day

We just love the whole idea surrounding the Star Wars movies and the creativity of it. We have done the Star Wars-themed bedrooms, birthday parties, and every gift you can think of Star Wars related. This is such a fun day to dedicate to something my boys love.

Here are a few fun ways we like to celebrate the day.

Rewatch the movies. You would be surprised how often you see something new in the saga series that you didn’t know the first time you watched. We like to whip out our R2D2 popcorn maker for nights that consist of Star Wars movie watching! Let your kids pick out their favorite one to watch! Who said you had to watch them in order?

Get your craft on. I found this adorable Yoda craft from simple mom project and it was a FREE printable template! Or maybe you can make your own lightsaber

Star Wars Day

Bake or cook something that is Star Wars themed. Maybe some Wookie cookies!

Get a Star Wars lego set or puzzle to put together as a family.

Host a Star Wars watch party and invite your friends and family! While we have never done a full party day dedicated to Star Wars on May fourth, I think this would be a fun surprise for anyone. If your family loves star wars as much as my family does, then you probably have a bunch of costumes laying around! Grab them and wear them for your party day. Ask guests to arrive in Star Wars attire! Make it fun!

More Star Wars-themed fun!

I hope you all have a healthy and fun Star Wars Day! May the fourth be with you!
