National Library Month Playdates

Each April, libraries across the country celebrate National Library Month. Our local St Johns County libraries are pretty spectacular. To help celebrate, we’ve planned STA Mom Meet-up events at each library branch to help showcase the incredible programs our local libraries host for children and their families. Preschool Story Time

Thursday, April 19th 11:15 – 11:45 am
Bartram Trail Branch
60 Davis Pond Blvd. Fruit Cove, FL 32259

This program is for children ages 3 to 5 years who are able to sit for longer stories.  Children are encouraged to attend independently.  Caregivers may stay in the room or be close by in the library.  Includes stories, music, and classroom type interaction.  25-30 min.

Family Story Time & Crafting

Tuesday, April 24th 11 am – 12 pm
Main Branch

Join Mr. Andy and Mrs. Marcia in The Randolph Caldecott Children’s Room at Main Library every Tuesday at 11am. We’ll sing songs, read stories, shake our sillies out, and try out some cool crafting too. This program is open to children of all ages. 

Bedtime Story Time

Kids of all ages, come dressed in your jammies for a magical evening storytime! We’ll wind down the evening with some twinkle lights, soft songs, bedtime-themed books, and a craft.

Storytimes at the Southeast Library are designed with Every Child Ready to Read elements in mind. Storytime classes are a chance for caregivers and their children to learn together how they can implement early literacy development techniques at home to support reading success at every age.

Preschool Story Time

Children Pre-K ready (roughly age 3) and older and their caregivers are invited to join Youth Services Staff Ms. Anne and Ms. Kimberley (30 min. Class with a 15-minute “Stay and Play” following) for lengthier themed stories, singing, Shaky Egg dancing, fingerplays, and Circle Time interaction now also including Yoga for children and caregivers. Please bring a mat or a towel and prepare to actively participate with your child(ren)! This class is specifically designed for children who can sit independently for longer stories and to help children be ready for VPK, Kindergarten, and beyond!

Family Story Time

Children of all ages are welcome at Family Storytime. Each week we explore a different theme through stories, non-fiction, puppets, and more. Music, movement and a craft are part of the fun, too! 

Stay and Playtime from 10:30-11 am. Kids learn a variety of skills through play, such as how to share, take turns, and listen. The library has puzzles, puppets, magnets, toy trains, and more. Children are invited to stay and have fun, and adults can take some time to relax and catch up.

Family Movie Night

Anastasia Island Branch

Join us in watching our favorite film from 2017, Coco (rated PG). Always a great family film, come see it for the first time or the fifth! Bring your favorite pillow and/ or blanket to be extra comfy. Light snacks are generously provided by the Friends of the Library.
