This school year looks very different and many families have been faced with difficult choices regarding their children’s education. If you are planning to homeschool your little one this fall, here are 5 easy ideas for preschool activities at home.
Take Field Trips
Preschoolers learn so much from their environment, so field trips are a great opportunity for them to soak up new knowledge. Especially right now, outdoor activities such as the St Augustine Alligator Farm, Jacksonville Zoo, or St Augustine Aquarium are perfect for young kids to explore. For rainy or hot days, check out our list of indoor play spaces and activities.
Set up Sensory Play
Sensory activities are a fun way to engage little hands. They don’t need to be fancy. Fill a plastic bin with noodles, rice, water, ice, dirt, or anything you have on hand. Add in measuring cups, spoons, little toys, or hidden treasures for hours of imaginative play. I love these Sensory Bin ideas to help get you started!

Learn Through Song
Early music exposure helps children learn by promoting language, creativity, coordination, social interaction, self-esteem and memory. There are lots of songs easily found on YouTube to teach the days of the week, the months of the year, phonetic sounds and more.
Teach the Alphabet
Learning their ABC’s is an easy activity you can do at home to help prepare your preschooler for Kindergarten. We love The Florida Alphabet because it teaches the letter and the sound in a fun, catchy tune.
